Finding the right oil to use is one of the most important things in a natural hair routine. Different oils have different benefits which means your hair may not specifically “like” one oil compared to another. This means that you may have to do some trial and error to discover what oil works best for your hair. Also, different oils have different consistencies. Depending on when or how you’re using the oil, you may want to opt for a thinner or thicker oil. For example, when sealing in moisture for thicker hair types it is best to use a thicker oil. However, when trying to refresh the hair in between washes it is best to use a thinner oil so it does not weigh the hair down. You could also use different oils based on their benefits such as fighting dandruff, sealing in moisture or simply for the nutrients that are available in the oil.
